Cabinet Services for a Remodeling Project
Cabinet work can mean designing a completely new layout or making focused improvements to cabinetry that is worth keeping. We evaluate the room, cabinet condition and storage needs before recommending replacement, refacing, refinishing or repair.
- Cabinet design — layouts for wall and base cabinets, islands, vanities, pantries and built-ins.
- Custom kitchen cabinet construction — cabinetry planned around unusual dimensions, specific storage needs and coordinated remodeling work.
- Custom cabinet design & installation — tailored islands, vanities, built-ins and storage configurations.
- Cabinet refacing and kitchen cabinet door replacement — new doors, drawer fronts, veneers and hardware while retaining suitable cabinet boxes.
- Cabinet painting and refinishing — preparation and a new paint, stain or finish for existing doors, drawers and boxes.
- Cabinet repair — attention to doors, drawers, hinges, hardware and damaged cabinet-box areas.
Replace, Reface, Refinish or Repair?
| Approach | Good fit when | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| Replace | The layout needs work or boxes are damaged | Boxes, doors, drawers and potentially the room layout |
| Reface | Boxes and layout are sound | Doors, drawer fronts, visible skins and hardware |
| Refinish or paint | Cabinet surfaces can be prepared for a new finish | Color or stain while keeping most existing parts |
| Repair | Damage is localized | Hinges, drawers, doors, hardware or selected box areas |
Design Before Installation
Cabinet plans should account for appliance specifications, door swings, fillers, countertop overhangs, plumbing locations and comfortable walkways. Storage details—deep drawers, tray dividers, pull-out trash, pantry rollouts and corner hardware—are easiest to decide before cabinetry is ordered.

A Coordinated Finish
Door style, color, hardware, countertops, backsplash and lighting need to be reviewed together. A finish that looks right on a sample can read differently beside stone or under the room's lighting. We encourage comparing the main selections together before the project moves ahead.
Cabinet Services FAQ
Can cabinet doors be replaced without replacing the boxes?
Often, yes, when the boxes are sound and the openings work with the new doors. The existing cabinetry should be evaluated first.
Is cabinet painting the same as refacing?
No. Painting changes the finish. Refacing typically adds new doors and drawer fronts plus veneer or finished panels on visible box surfaces.
Do you design bathroom cabinets too?
Cabinet planning can include vanities and bathroom storage as part of a residential bathroom remodel.
